Environmental Impact

An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been undertaken in support of this planning application, encompassing an assessment of temporary and permanent activities during the lifetime of the Project for the following topics:

  • Water Resources, Flood Risk, Drainage and Water Environment Regulations

  • Geology and Hydrogeology

  • Landscape and Visual Impact

  • Noise and Vibration

  • Air Quality

  • Traffic and Transport

  • Climate Change

  • Socio-economics

  • Shadow Habitat Regulations Assessment

The EIA is documented in a Supplementary Environmental Statement (SES), the full version of which is available in the application documents which are available to view and download on the planning registers of NYMNPA and RCBC.

A Non-Technical Summary has also been prepared and can viewed here. The SES concludes that the activities associated with the proposed amendments to the currently approved development will not give rise to significant adverse environmental or social effects, over and above those already arising as a result of the current planning permissions and thus do not pose a risk to the environment or communities.
